I am on the last few weeks of my practicum project for my Masters and I am so excited to be finished. The project was actually this website and blog, but now that I have learned that I will need to maintain a blog and website for my evaluation this project will continue.
I never realized how much I would enjoy building a website. I always felt as if I could not do this that it may be too techhy for me, if I can do it anyone can. The funnier thing is that I am learning how much I enjoy this especially the blogging.
I wonder if everyone else who has ever designed a website feels the same way intimi

Board Maker is truly a special educator's friend and it has become one of the most useful tools in my classroom. I use it to create a variety of tools to help my students learn and to stay on schedule. Board Maker allows me to create the uniform size picture so the schedules look neater and more presentable in the classroom. I am truly a neat freak and prefer all of the schedules and toke economy boards be uniform. This makes it look nicer and more professional during observations and parent visits. I will encourage my parents to let me know if they need a schedule created for home use and I would be happy to make the boards for that schedule. After all the name of the game is education and it does not stop at 2:00 when the students leave for the day. Whatever skill I am working on at school and the skills that the parents are working on are equally important and must be reinforced fo

I have been truly investigating the TEACCH method of instruction for my classroom. Last school year I began with a few tool boxes concentrating mainly on fine motor skills and I really say how my students were advancing with simple task. Every journey begins with an idea and this journey will be no different. My idea is to help other educators and parents to locate valuable resources and tools to help either in the classroom or at home with your special needs students. I have just began this website and blog as part of graduate school, but it will be kept up and running after I receive my degree.
I am hoping the blog will be a sounding board for ideas and tools that will help us all in the  classroom and at home.
Please if you have ideas that have worked in your classroom please feel free to share. I am always willing to share my ideas, if I can help someone else have a better day I will feel like my journey is a success.
